Colby C. Jenkins Director, Government Affairs

Mr. Colby Jenkins (Major, Army National Guard) serves as Director, Government Affairs at American Business Development Group; an internationally respected, full-spectrum business development consulting firm, now representing a diverse list of over fifty prominent U.S. and international businesses. American Business Development Group enjoys a reputation as the largest business development firm in the United States which specializes in the re-equipping and modernization of the United States Armed Forces. The firm has facilitated more than $680,000,000 in "new found sales" for client companies in the last year and historically each year for the last four years.

Mr. Jenkins graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1999 and was commissioned an infantry officer. After completing the Airborne and Ranger schools at Fort Benning, GA, he served as a Rifle Platoon Leader and Company Executive Officer in the 25th Infantry Division in Hawaii. He later joined the Special Forces, "Green Berets," at Fort Bragg, NC, where he commanded a Special Forces A-team. He led his team of Green Berets through a combat deployment to Afghanistan, followed by counter-drug and sensitive training missions to Colombia and Paraguay, South America. The Commanding General of the U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) personally selected Mr. Jenkins to be the first Special Operations Forces (SOF) soldier to begin and complete a new USSOCOM Legislative Affairs program in Washington, DC. As a result, Mr. Jenkins graduated with a Masters degree in Legislative Affairs from the Graduate School of Political Management at George Washington University. Mr. Jenkins also worked in the Senate for a senior US Senator of the Armed Services Committee.

Following his graduate studies and work in the Senate, Mr. Jenkins became a Legislative Assistant to the Commanding General of USSOCOM, responsible for Special Operations-related issues in both the House and Senate. Working out of the USSOCOM Capitol Hill office, Mr. Jenkins interacted daily with Members of Congress and Professional Committee Staff. Part of his duties included traveling the world extensively with Congressional delegations visiting Special Operations-related activities. Later, he served as a Counter-Terror Policy advisor in the Pentagon to the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Special Operations / Low-Intensity Conflict & Interdependent Capabilities (SO/LIC&IC). In this capacity, Mr. Jenkins worked national security policy issues with senior staff from throughout the inter-agency, to include members of the National Security Council. Most recently before joining ABDG, Mr. Jenkins served as a Legislative Liaison in the Office of the Secretary of the Army. This work further strengthened his legislative experience and daily interactions with Members of Congress and their Professional Committee Staff. With nearly a decade of service in Special Operations, combined with unique legislative and defense policy experience, Mr. Jenkins brings a wide range of expertise to ABDG.

A native of Roosevelt, Utah, Mr. Jenkins is married to the former Heather Farnsworth. They reside in the Silver Spring, MD area, along with their two young daughters.
