Mr Peterson is a senior consultant for the American Business Development Group (ABDG). As a senior consultant he provides assistance and advice to ABDG's clients where ever possible to understand and navigate the Army acquisition process so the clients can present their products in the best possible light for consideration.
Mr Peterson retired from the US Army Tank Automotive Research and Development Center (TARDEC) as the Associate Director for Engineer and Logistics Equipment. Prior to his retirement he had worked in the Army acquisition system for more than 36 years working on various Combat Engineer and Logistic Support systems in all phases of the Acquisition life cycle (research through production and sustainment). At the time of his retirement he was also serving in a dual capacity as the Deputy Project Manager for Technology to the Project Manager for Force Projection.
As Associate Director for Engineer and Logistics Equipment at TARDEC, Mr. Peterson was responsible for the research, technology development, and engineering support for a wide variety of equipment. This equipment included military bridging, mechanical countermine systems, route clearance & mine protected vehicles, construction equipment, material handling equipment and army watercraft.
At various times during his career Mr Peterson has been assigned as the TARDEC Executive Director for Development and as the Director for Mobility. He has also served as the Chairman of an international design and test code for military bridging, as the co-chair for the RDECOM countermine and counter IED IPT, as a focus area lead on the RDECOM Supportability & Maneuver Sustainment IPT, and as technical project officer on a number of data exchange agreements with foreign governments.
In his early career Mr Peterson served as the lead technical expert and project engineer on a number of military bridging systems.
Mr. Peterson earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from Ohio Northern University in 1969 and a Master of Science degree in Engineering from the University of Michigan in 1974. Mr. Peterson is a registered Professional Engineer.
He and his wife Gale reside in Shelby Township MI and have two adult children.
