American Business Development Group (ABDG) is pleased to announce that Sanitec Industries has retained ABDG to assist with their marketing and sales efforts in the United States defense market.

Sanitec is the worldwide patent holder of the Sanitec Microwave Healthcare Waste Disinfection System. Sanitec systems transforms dangerous healthcare waste and other hazardous materials into low volume, unrecognizable, non-infectious material that requires no further treatment and can be safely disposed of meeting all EPA standards and HIPAA requirements. Sanitec systems can be part of a permanent installation or mobile units can be set up and operational almost immediately, addressing significant concerns related to the disposal of waste that is causing sanitary problems and health concerns in earthquake ravaged Haiti and most recently Chile.

ABDG's initial focus will be to address the issue of open-air burn pits currently in use in both Afghanistan and Iraq. These "pits" have consumed well over a million tons of plastics, paint, fuel, medical waste and a variety of other hazardous materials. Mounting evidence identifies these burn pits as causing negative health effects in deployed troops. James Harkess, Sanitec's President, said, "ABDG understands the value proposition Sanitec offers and has the team to quickly and efficiently market it to the right communities--making an alternative to burn pit incineration is just the first step is solving this problem. We selected ABDG to help us take Sanitec to the decision makers in DOD and on Capitol Hill."

ABDG's efforts will also address the medical waste issue with the Department of Veterans Affairs and the over 500 medical centers and outpatient clinics that are supported within the VA network of medical care facilities.

Bill Skipper, ABDG's President and CEO, said, "not all technologies can solve environmental health issues so completely and efficiently, but our new partner has a proven track record doing just that with installations in the U.S. and throughout the world." Lt. Col. (Ret) Jeff Bruckner, ABDG's Division Director, said, "representing a client that has such a positive effect on the health and well-being of our war fighters takes this opportunity beyond business and makes it personal. I've been around burn pits, and while they are a necessity of war, they need to be shut down as soon as possible to protect all individuals in the area."
